Happy April...

Tomorrow would have been my Mother's birthday...
Amidst the showers of April, this has always been a lovely time of year. It's like a kind of awakening and all worries seem eclipsed. This is the first day sitting out in the garden after a long and arduous winter. I have a day off and am cherishing this somewhat precious and valuable time.
Simple as it sounds... The garden appears happy - the amphitheatre of dancing daisies, dozing cats, leaves shaking off their winter chills and new splashes of purple and blue from the spring palette...
It feels good to soak up a little of nature's goodness...
Yesterday the river was particularly tranquil, as though it was anticipating a change in the process. As I walked across the bridge, the buildings sung out with colour and my vision was one of pleasure. I think most cities shine in the spring, as our eyes adjust to the fresh, new world, our minds follow with restored faith and hope of a beautiful year ahead...
May I just mention that April is a month of special birthdays and not only does it say goodbye to winter but celebrates another year for my two lovely Nieces over in Australia - Josie and Isla... Oh, and I feel sure that Mum is smiling down on all of us... Happy Birthday... Happy April!
